I believe Marathi movies always had it's soul and it has made me feel all the emotions.
However when previously Marathi movies used to do really well at the box office.
New movies that are releasing now are not getting good response.

In October 2024 we have witnessed 4 really good movies that were released.
Phulwanti, Paani are one of the best movies in that list.
But what we have experienced the audience are not going to theatre no matter how good the movie is.
Where most of you can say that Bollywood is also struggling to get the collection so what more we could expect from local cinema?
I do agree with the point that Bollywood is struggling but somehow they still have some big hits this year. On the other side in other states where the local cinema is doing fabulous business Marathi movies are struggling and that's really disappointing.
I know there are few movies that were really not upto the mark like Navra Mazha Navsacha 2.
All of us had so many expectations from Sachin Pilgaokar and Ashok Saraf. But the movie turned out to be a forced sequel.
Navra Mazha Navsacha 2 did earn money at the box office because of Nostalgia factor but fans were really not happy.
So what's going on with Marathi cinema?
Do they really need big stars or need to plan when they wants to release a new movie.
Also, Do you think high ticket pricing is one of the biggest reason Marathi movies are struggling at the Box Office?
