What happened to bollywood?

One of the largest film industries in India is going through tough times.

What are the major reasons that Bollywood is failing at the box office? Big stars like Amir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan failed to weave magic at the box office.

Is it because of lockdown? Is it because of the Boycott gang or is it really because of bollywood itself and the introduction of the OTT platforms?

Well, In this post I’m going to discuss major issues as an audience that Bollywood needs to work on.

Bollywood and Emotional connection

Every one of us had the best of our time watching Bollywood movies and the big reason was we were able to relate to those characters and story line.

Bollywood used to connect us emotionally and that was the best part of it. In recent times we are missing this.

I hardly remember the last time I was able to connect with the character from a Bollywood movie.

I really hope we will get to see old Bollywood with those emotional touches.

Bollywood and lack of good original stories

I feel that Bollywood is really lacking some good and authentic scripts and stories that will attract audiences.

There was a time when bollywood completely relied on South Indian movies and started doing remakes. Before the introduction of OTT and a good multi language dubbing audience has accepted those remakes but now audiences are more accepting towards original content.

To be honest the amount of poor stories and lack of good quality movies I’m watching these days,it is going to be very difficult for bollywood to sustain.

All hopes are on Brahmastra and Pathaan. I really wish Ayan Mukherjee’s most ambitious project will get an audience and also Shah Rukh Khan is making a comeback after a long time and hope he will not repeat the same mistake again

Bollywood movies: Theatre vs OTT

The introduction of OTT platforms is a revolution in the entertainment world. At the same time I noticed there are some movies we can call them low budget movies they may not be able to attract audiences to theatres but if the content is good that movie is finding it’s audience on OTT platforms
